Stalinism

A name given to adherents of - the Marxism proclaimed by the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR), when it was governed by Stalin. Sometimes alleged to characterise all people who sympathise with Stalin, from a Marxist perspective.

It is often regarded as a slur, and the official USSR term 'Marxism-Leninism' is preferred. This term is often preferred by those critical of Stalin's fidelity to Marx or Lenin.
