Socialism

A word traditionally used as - a synonym for 'communism.' There has later arisen the belief that it pertains to a 'transitional stage' between capitalism and communism, however that was not its original use in Marxism. Engels stated that him and Marx started to use 'socialism' interchangeably with 'communism,' once 'socialism' lost its association with a higher-class demographic.

It is also used by many when speaking of fervent liberalism, like that of Bernie Sanders. That is not socialism in a Marxist sense, or even a traditional anti-capitalist sense.
